Are you guys planning to go to Ilocos Norte? to see their popular tourist destination windmill? but thinking that it’s too far from manila? no worries about that because 3 hours from manila you can find the Windmill in Pilillia Rizal Farm it is build on top of the hills with the scenic view of Laguna Lake in Pilillia and Tanay Rizal, the place is chosen to build the windmill because it has excellent wind resources.
It consists of 27 wind turbine generators grouped into three clusters which can provide 67.5 megawatts (MW). Each turbine can produce 2.5 megawatt of clean and renewable energy.
Aside from providing energy to it’s local province, windmill in Pilillia Rizal is also the best tourist spot in the Province Rizal people taking pictures at the viewing point and love to see the beautiful view of the lake which is perfect when sunset. I’ve been there with my relatives and during that time it was raining. But then i assume that it is really a perfect place this summer for those who are looking for road trip or adventure.
How to get there:
Public transportation
From EDSA Star Mall:
- You can ride either Van for or Jeepney for 70 pesos to Tanay, Rizal
- Then get down at Tanay Public Market intersection.
- From the Tanay Public Market intersection.
- And you can hire a tricycle that will take you to windmills.
For Private Vehicle
Take Manila East Road:
- Follow the Manila East Road all the way to Pilillia. The Manila East Road passes through the towns of Taytay, Angono, Binangonan, Cardona, Morong, Baras and Tanay before Pilillia.
- From Edsa take the way to Pasig Ortigas, Cainta, Antipolo via Sumulong Highway to get to Manila East Road.
- When you reach a fork in the road, take the left fork going towards Mabitac, Famy & Real.
- That is an uphill road, You will pass a power plant.
- Turn left along the highway when you see a wide gravel area leading up to the windmill’s major construction site and there is someone who will guide you to the viewing point.
